A Secretaria Municipal de Saúde promove nesta quinta-feira (20), a partir das 13h, na escola Estadual Martins de Melo, no bairro Menezes, o Dia "D" de Combate a Dengue. Serão realizadas diversas atividades educativas direcionadas a comunidade, visando ações de prevenção e eliminação de criadouros dos mosquitos. A população será orientada sobre quais são os sinais e sintomas da dengue e poderá fazer a troca de materiais recicláveis (caixas tetra Pack, garrafas pet, latas em geral) por materiais escolares.
De acordo com a Prefeitura, o objetivo é tornar a população proativa no combate a dengue para reduzir o número de casos da doença com intensificação de ações de prevenção e mobilização social, nas áreas de risco, em parceria com a comunidade escolar.
Dados do Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação (Sinan) apontam que foram notificados no município 1.005 casos suspeitos de dengue, no período de janeiro a novembro. Sendo que desses 101 foram confirmados. Até o momento, não há registro de óbito por dengue no município.
